Building Bridges through Education and the Arts 2018

May 2018

We held a think tank and arts education workshop to build bridges with the community, explore, and express ideas about the value of the arts in their learning and development as individuals and citizens.

With performers like dance artist Tanja Woloshen, Artistic Director of Sarasvati Productions Hope McIntyre, visual artist and potter Donna Garofalo, and Indigenous performer Erica Wilson we had an incredible day on inspiration and creativity.

The day opened with a beautiful performance by Indigenous hoop dancer Emilie McInney and continued later in the day with the music of Nadia and Jason Brunstick.

And continued throughout the day with workshops for students where they explored ideas and creative expression.

Many arts educators in community came together to talk about the importance of arts education, brainstorm and share ideas.

It was an inspired day of advocating for the arts.
